We are excited that you are considering an international adoption and hope that we can help you realize your plans to expand your family!

Many families are choosing Adoption Connection to complete their International Homestudy because at our agency you have the freedom to pick an international facilitator/agency from anywhere in the United States to help you locate your child.

To help you complete your International Adoption we can:

• Complete your International Homestudy
  
  
• Guide you through the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS, formerly the INS) paperwork.
  

• Refer you to qualified agencies and facilitators who specialize in the countries where you wish to adopt.
  
  
• Complete Post-Adoption visits that may be required after your child is home.
  
  
• Help you through the legal process of a California Re-Adoption, or finalization, which is necessary to acquire a U.S. birth certificate.
  
  
• Preparation for International Adoption Workshop will be required for all families completing a homestudy with our agency. The workshop is also open to all families who are interested in attending – not limited to Adoption Connection families only.

Getting Started
There is no wait to begin your homestudy process. When you are ready to proceed you may begin the homestudy process while simultaneously working on your dossier and the Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly INS) application. Many of the forms will be used for both.

Adoption Connection applicants will need to present a stable family life for a child, and demonstrate a commitment to parenting a child from a different culture. Our FAQ section should answer many of your questions.
